What Is Student (2831) Ministries All About?

What is Student (2831) Ministries all about?

2831 comes from Acts 28:31, where the book of Acts comes to an end with Paul under house arrest, stating that He was, “preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching concerning the Lord Jesus Christ with all boldness, unhindered.”  Paul refused to let his imprisonment get in the way of preaching the gospel!

In Student Ministries at First Baptist Church of Lakewood, our prayer is that our students would be Bold and Unhindered in their pursuit and proclamation of Christ, as they find their way through school, church, relationships, family and life.

Students at Lakewood will experience and learn to:

REACH- Reach out with the Love of Jesus to the World around us.

CONNECT- Connect into encouraging, equipping, and empowering relationships with other Christians.

GROW- Grow in relationship with Christ and commitments to follow Him.

SERVE- Serve others as we minister in the name of Christ

HONOR- Honor God in everything we do, so that He gets the Glory.

Middle School (grades 6-8)

If you are a Middle School Student,
we have a place here that is just for you!

Middle School is an exciting time in the life of a student and our team of leaders is committed to seeing students enjoy this season and be prepared for the next. Our goal is to give each student an accurate picture of how we can Love God and Love people.

With meetings and activities focused directly at the interests and needs of students, you're sure to have fun, learn a lot and feel connected. We have two very different meetings each week, both focused at Middle School Students.

- Sunday Mornings: 9:00 am - 10:15 am
- Wednesday Nights: 6:30 pm - 8:15 pm

All Meetings are in the Middle School Room (A205)

We also have various camps and events throughout the year. Whether you've grown up in church, going for the first time, or somewhere in between; this is the place for you. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact us here at the church.

High School (grades 9-12)

It is not easy to be a High School student.  You struggle to find your niche, where you can fit in and survive.  But wouldn’t you rather have your life mean something?  Wouldn’t you rather make your life count?  This is why we pray for boldness in our students, so that they would not be content with just surviving High School, but making a difference in other’s lives while in High School.  PARRESIAS (Par-A-see-us) is a Greek word that means boldness, and is the second to last word in the book of Acts.  This is what our High School Ministry is called, and what we are about.

We desire to make everything that we do matter, so that we are not just surviving our purposeless existence.  Every crazy event, every all-nighter, and every camp is done for a purpose.  Do you want to make the most of your High School experience?

Join us on Sunday mornings in A-202 from 9-10:15a for worship, teaching, and fellowship.

Life Groups

Our life groups meet on Wednesday Nights from 6:30-8:15pm. Jr. High (6-8th grade) meets in A-205. Sr. High (9-12th grade) meets in A-202.
