Pat Barton

Having come aboard in October, 1989, Pat has the distinction of serving on staff the second longest, just behind our wonderful “Grandpa Dick” Laurie.

As HR Director, Pat, along with her terrific assistant Claudia, takes care of the various needs of our church and school employees. She also handles the accounting and money-handling tasks of the church. Pat also enjoys filling in as computer network problem solver on staff, having been part of that growing process since it began in 1990.

Pat and her husband, Jim, have been part of the Lakewood family since 1975. They raised their four children in the church and have loved being part of the life of Lakewood.  Over the years they have enjoyed serving in children’s ministries, student ministries, choir, small groups, and helping out in all kinds of special events.

Apart from her job, Pat loves spending time with Jim, their four children and their spouses and, of course, their six grandchildren. For the past 10 years, Pat has set aside every Friday as “grandma day” for all the grandbabes--a wonderfully exhausting day. Most recently, Pat and Jim have bought a motor home and Jim has announced his retirement. They look forward to spending time on the road vacationing and helping with service projects.

It is Pat’s joy to use her gifts and talents for the Lord at Lakewood.
