Bill Zabel

Bill Zabel became a member of First Baptist Church of Lakewood in 1975.  He married his high school sweetheart, Liz.  She has worked in banking and was a Pre-school teacher for many years.  She currently works part-time in the retail jewelry business.  They have three grown children, Kim, Jeff, and Jon, and their spouses, Greg (Kim) and Sam (Jeff).  They also have 3 special grandchildren, Jordyn, Connor, and Audrey, and 2 very spoiled pommies; Nesha and Pippin.

Bill completed a degree in Human Resources Management and Instructional Media at California State University, Long Beach. His previous work experiences include Training and Development Manager in the Corporate Automobile Industry and Cast Member at Disneyland Park (Steam Train Conductor, Main Street Vehicle Driver). 

He joined the Lakewood staff in July of 2000.  As the Community Life Pastor Bill is responsible for First Impressions Ministry, Life Groups, Assimilation, Sunday Morning Adult Classes, Life After Fifty Ministry, Care Ministry, Deaf Ministry, and Celebrate Recovery.  His passions include teambuilding, creative design, personal encouragement, connecting people into ministry.

In his free time he enjoys spending as much time as possible with the family, a friendly game of golf, and having fun with great friends.
