Children

When Jesus was here on Earth, He made it clear that children were valued and loved.  He touched them, He talked to them, He healed them, He showed love and care for them.  In other words, He "got down on their level" and met their needs.  That is the goal of the children's ministry at First Baptist Lakewood...to lovingly meet each child's need and point them to Jesus.

We are committed to providing a safe and fun environment for your children where they can experience a fresh encounter with God's Word every week, and develop consistent relationships with other children and with Godly teachers.  Through Sunday School, Kid's Church, Kid-U, camps and many special events, children at Lakewood see and feel, first-hand, the love and care of Jesus, and learn that church is a great place to be!

Did you know that we have an awesome group of 5th grade kids called “PreTeens,” here at First Baptist Church of Lakewood?

 They meet together on Sunday mornings  at 9:00 a.m. 
In addition to getting together on Sundays , we also get together once a month for a special activity called “Friday Night Live.” (Hey Kids...remember our Mexican Fiesta Night, the Polaroid Party, and Boomers?)

Drama! Music! Foosball! Basketball! Rapid Response! “Good Book Look,” Media Time!  Gordo, Agnes, Tyler, Bart the Bard, Cammie, Vinny, Kit, and more crazy drama characters that have us laughing our heads off! What kind of trouble will they get into next?These are just a few of the things that 1st - 5th graders have to look forward to each Sunday in KidStuf.

Each week our kids take a closer look at the Virtue of the Month and apply it to their lives in a new and fresh way. KidStuf is especially designed to do 3 things:

To give parents and kids a common jumping off point for discussing God’s Word and how to apply it to their lives. (Each family receives a VIRTUE PACK to help them apply the principles of God’s Word at home.)

To give kids a place to hang out with their friends and see that other kids are having fun learning how to love and worship Jesus too!

Giving kids a great place to invite their friends to! We think KidStuf is so awesome that kids will WANT TO COME BACK!
