Parents, tonight we gave our students a challenge to give to people in need and to make it a sacrifice. This is based on our series this month. 2 passages we've talked about are Matthew 25 when Jesus says helping people in need is like helping Him and Mark 12 where it talks about a sacrifice. We wanted to make it practical so we challenged students to give to people in need. We set up some parameters so that it is safe for the student and an effective way of getting food to people in need. I'd encourage you to make this a family thing. If you have any questions, simply let me know (tlewis@fbcol.org or 562-420-1471). I hope that this turns into a great activity for your family and a way to help your student understand giving.

HERE IS WHAT WE CHALLENGED THE STUDENTS WITH...

Did you accept the $5 Challenge Tonight? Remember here's what you do this week!

  1. Get $5 of your own money. Don't just ask your parents, make it a sacrifice.
  2. Go to a big chain Fast Food Restaurant (McDonalds, Subway, Taco Bell) and buy a $5 gift card
  3. Give the $5 gift card to a person in need that you can find. Go with a parent, not on your own to someone you know is in need and give them the card.
Remember, if you can't find someone to give it to, bring the $5 gift card to MSM on Wednesday, March 3rd. We'll give the card to someone for you. Either way, if you took the challenge, you should show up Wednesday with a gift card or a story.
